It's 11.38am and I woke up at 6.30am ready to attack the day with an early morning yoga session followed by a matcha latte and porridge. The only thing is, it's nearly lunch and not only have I only had a black coffee I'm also still in my PJs suggesting yoga didn't eventuate...except for the corps pose.
*Update 12.15pm made myself chips and gravy*
And whilst I know both my naturopath, fiancé and mum are all shaking their heads reading this, the truth is I really don't feel guilty.
We we're in Sydney recently and with a crazy hectic fashion week schedule coupled with working remotely and attempting to find a wedding dress; so you could say anxiety levels were running high.
Whenever life is feeling a little less than desirable I tend to run and hide, apparently cowering under your bed is not socially acceptable for a 24 year old so instead I find myself a book shop and bottle of wine - much more responsible.
And so it happened that I stumbled upon this little gem of a read, The Life Changing Magic Of Not Giving A Fuck, by Sarah Night. Now as the author suggests this book is in no way affiliated or supported by Marie Kondo but that is exactly why it is perfection.
Don't get me wrong I do care about a lot of things, and the sentiment of not giving a f**k is more applicable to the little things in life that lets face it don't deserve the attention of a panic attack. TBFS hero Leandra Medine wrote an article about mindfulness and like the queen that she is concluded that at the end of the day slowing down and being present is what counts. Working yourself up about the past and future for things you really can't control is much like low fat brie - pointless.
