As I am sure you guys know we love our wine but sherry remains somewhat of an enigma to us. When we heard Andy Freedman and Sam Astbury of Varnish fame had launched a boutique sherry bar on the top floor of their new venue The Flour Factory we were pretty excited and The Sherry did not let us down.
Greeted by Negroni inspired cocktails and passionfruit jellies (OMG. Seriously these need to be on the regular menu) we entered the outdoor terrace bar and immediately fell in love with the gorgeous signage.
More cocktails, including Howard Park vermouth that Andy and his team personally developed, craft beers and carefully selected wines rounded out the impressive drinks menu which brings us to the food.
Oh Lordy the food.
Not only do they bake bread in house (including GF options so don’t be afraid to ask!) but they create cheese boards that belong in our dreams and do all their own charcuterie. Our picks? Pig head bacon, the jerky and the crackling (we totally bagged some to take home.)
The Sherry will have a bespoke menu of 5 items while the full menu will be available down stairs at The Flour Factory. This venue will become an absolute legend on the Perth small bar scene and we are already planning our return trip!
