A cord can be defined as a slender length of flexible material used to bind, tie, connect or support. It also refers to one of the most fragile parts of the human body which, when damaged or severed causes sometimes irreparable damage. Cord founder Jos epitomises both of these definitions. After an accident which left her living with quadriplegia she now works to be the binding force to bring together the Perth community to connect and support with those living with spinal cord injuries.
Cord pulls together Perth’s high profile artists, musicians and local producers for a night out with a difference. Artworks exploring the themes of both connection and disconnection will be available for auction on the evening with all proceeds going towards supporting the Fiona Stanley Spinal Cord Injury Unit.
The themes of connect and disconnect are particularly thought provoking in this forum with many people suffering with spinal cord injuries also suffering the mental ramifications of feeling disconnected from the life they once knew. Cord is a great way to provide a sense of community and support while raising funds to ease the transition back into everyday life.
Head to the Cord Facebook page here for more information and to ogle the gorgeous pieces up for sale on the night! Supported by Gage Road and hosted at Whippersnapper Distillery it is gearing up to be a great night out so buy all of your friends a ticket and come down to grab a drink with us while supporting a great local initiative.
