Daek William is a man of many facets. On one hand he is a prolific tea drinker and cat lover. And on the other hand, he is a street artist who has held a studio in New York who at one point snow-proofed his shoes with plastic bags, although we all agreed Timberlands are probably a better option.
His latest exhibition, The Sword and Society: A Fable, examines the relationship between the fast pace of 21st century life in the context of the fables of our childhood.
Daek drew inspiration from the characters in his life along with modern day magic and cautionary tales of giving in to the excess of present day reality. Beautifully presented and satirically appropriate for a generation who are obsessed with easy pleasures, Daek's pieces are not to be missed. Showing at Linton and Kay until the 15th of August this is the perfect entry collection for the modern day Jean Walter or Paul Guillaume.
