Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015.

Oh September, the month full of front row gossip, excessive use of #fashun and us trying to replicate Alexa Chung’s divine style. While Tommy Ton’s New York snaps are always a highlight of September, so to is our home grown talent at the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.

TPFF opened last night featuring Dilettante’s latest range including designs by Yang Li, 33 Poets and Tony Maticevski.

Yang Li brought home a touch of French romance coupled with 90s grunge. After studying fashion at Central Saint Martins and interning for Raf Simons, Li is now based in London but grew up in Perth. He spoke with Elle mentioning that years of playing basketball and skateboarding were to thank for his unique style. "When you play basketball or when you skate, how you wear your jeans and which graphic is on your skateboard is important—it's so much about style and expression. Studying fashion was justifying this interest, really, and applying it in a more conventional way."

Kia Low opened the show clutching a strategically placed khaki jacket which brought back the opening look from Li’s Spring Read-To-Wear as seen in Paris.

It was a collection of looks that are close to our hearts, with biker jackets and masculine touches.

Face of the festival Tia Eckhart lead the way for Maticevski and Grady Wulff closed in a jaw-dropping wedding-esk dress.
