An epic Sydney trip needs an equally epic hotel – our pick? The Hyatt Regency Sydney in Darling Harbour. Check out the video of our adventures and our review below!
Flying in a day early for MBFWA, we were keen for some relaxation and exploration away from the usual tourist traps and wow did the Hyatt Regency deliver! Boasting the title of Australia’s largest hotel, The Hyatt Regency Sydney has 5 dining areas, its own pop-up art gallery, a rooftop bar and unparalleled harbour views.
We arrived to be greeted by the lovely Victoria who checked us in at the gorgeous lobby space with THE MOST incredible flower display and had us already feeling more relaxed after a hectic flight over.
Upon arriving at our rooms, we were met with floor to ceiling views over the harbour and a bed that was so soft it was like sleeping in an actual cloud. Our rooms also featured a separate work/lounging space and free wifi which is always something we look for when booking a hotel.
For ultimate relaxation, we would also recommend upgrading to Regency Club entry as this allows you complimentary breakfast and snacks throughout the day, as well access to their happy hour with complimentary beverages and canapes.
Popping up within the Heritage Bar, ‘The Gallery’ is a temporary space showcasing a collaboration between Canon and Hyatt Regency Sydney to bring some incredible photographic work to the hotel. Featuring a different photographer each month, ‘The Gallery’ will show a wide range of subjects (including an exhibition from Perth born Jarrad Seng) and a portion of any print sold will go to charity.
If you are lucky enough to be staying over the weekend booking a Sunday brunch at Zephyr Bar is non negotiable. Zephyr is the only bar that is open to the public with views over Darling Harbour and it is absolutely incredible. Make sure you arrive hungry as you will be greeted with THE BIGGEST grazing platter you have ever seen, accompanied by a glass of Moët and Chandon Rosè Imperial while you soak in the views. Individual mains (we had the shakshuka) and a dessert board follow and if you aren’t leaving in a food coma we are seriously impressed. An absolute must do for any special occasion or just to treat yo’self because you are on holiday!
We topped the afternoon off with a cocktail making class, getting behind the bar to make two of Zephyr’s signature cocktails to enjoy while looking out over the harbour.
Whether you are looking to relax in luxury and not leave the hotel or go out to explore the gorgeous Darling Harbour and surrounds situated mere steps away from the hotel then Hyatt Regency Sydney is a must stay for your next Sydney trip!
